J Boats J/30 Hull #348

Rhapsody is the "old" style J/30 built in 1981. It has the nice teak interior. Most of the systems on Rhapsody have been rebuilt or restored, including a new dodger and mast rewire (2006), engine & transmission rebuild, all new hoses (2007), template keel, strip, new barrier coat and VC Offshore bottom, new PYI shaft seal, new lifelines and new TackTick instruments (2007), new engine mounts, new cutlass bearing, new running rigging (2008). During the 2008-9 winter, significant areas on the starboard side below the waterline and the transom were recored due to wet balsa and delamination. The Martec propeller was refurbished and the Wilcox-Crittendon head replaced. Winter work for 2009-2010 included rebuilding and painting the boom, fabricating new hatch boards and the transmission rebuilt in my basement. The head stay was replaced and the Tuff Luff foil replaced with a Harken Carbofoil.
